Welcome to our Blog

Thank you for visiting! We have put forth much effort into making this possible. In October of 2010 we began to bike to many different parks and park districts. Our blog functions to promote people's interest in Chicagoland Area Park Districts. We have already biked to 500+ parks and taken pictures of each. We hope you will use this for reference when you visit Chicagoland or rediscover your own neighborhood! The right side of the page contains links to parks we have already biked to while the blog portion contains recent trips and updates. Keep on reading, and please come back often to see our progress!

Rosemont Parks

Rosemont Village Background
Rosemont is hidden between O'Hare International Airport and Downtown Chicago.

The Parks

Rosemont Community Park-9501 West Glenlake Avenue
The community park is conveniently located near the Des Plaines River Trail, and close to many shops.  There is a nice large pond with walking paths and beautiful gardens all around.  A building on property features bathrooms and and indoor seating area. On the East side of the park hosts a playground and tennis court.  There is also plenty of parking. This park dose not allow bikes on the property.

Amenities- Playground, tennis courts, pond, an indoor building, walking paths, parking.

Stephens Recreational Island-9650 West Higgins Road
This park pretty much an island.  Yup, an island not surrounded by water, but by asphalt. It looks like its a private park because its so convenient for the apartments around it.  It is only a playground and parking.  There are a few trees on the property though, and they do offer a little shade.

Amenities-Playground, parking.

Margaret J. Lange Park-6140 North Scott Street
This is their flagship park.  That means that it holds the park offices, and its also the largest.  When you com up on the neighborhood its in, there is a guard's hut at the entrance.  Don't worry, its still a public place.  We had no trouble biking in, its just that they want to keep the people living there safe.  The park has a large field with 2 baseball fields, and a playground.  They also have a splash park here, as well as 2 tennis courts.  You can sign up for classes in the building, and they have plenty of parking.

Stephens Athletic Complex-6101 North Ruby Street
The athletic complex (they use the word complex loosely), is in conjunction with Rosemont Elementary school.  It is just 5 and 1/2 blocks away from Margaret J. Lange park, and in the same neighborhood.  There is a baseball field, and open space.  The pool is part of the school, and from what it looks like, no exactly public.
