Golf and Glenview Parks

Editor's Note: Golf and Glenview were paired together because the one (1) park in Golf, IL is maintained by the Glenview Park District, who also maintains the parks for the city of Glenview.

Golf Village Background
Golf is logically named for the game of golf.  It was the location where the president of the Milwaukee road stopped to play a game of golf with his friends at the Glen View Golf Club.  Howard Reich called it "The Suburb That Growth Forgot."  Their Post office was established on August 30th, 1898.

Glenview Village Background
Glenview was incorporated into a village in 1899.  Before the, it was just a part of Northfield township.  Glenview is approximately 13.5 square miles large.  Gleview's largest attraction is the Glen, serving as sort of downtown with a movie theater and shops.  It also includes a two golf courses, a park, schools, and houses.  Before the current state of the Glen, there was a navel air base.  Glenview has six elementary schools, and two middle schools.  They feed into the high schools Glenbrook North and South.
